What ChatGPT recommended when we asked buyer questions
On 25 October 2026 we asked ChatGPT six questions a Singapore buyer might ask, in English and in Chinese, and kept all 12 answers word for word.
What we saw
- The shortlists are short. Most answers name between three and eight companies, drawn from published pages.
- Some answers give a method, not a list. On the question about how a manufacturer gets recommended, the Chinese answer named no company and said that no company can guarantee ChatGPT will recommend a manufacturer.
- Where a company appears depends on what is published about it. The answers lean on service pages, directories and comparison articles.
What it means
If buyers ask AI to build their shortlist, the shortlist is written from what is published about you. That is why we measure first, then fix the source.
